Did you use anything as reference? And is that a crystal brush? It looks really good
I like how you didn't use any textures at all, shows quite a lot of effort and skill!
Nice colours and contrasting lighting from the frozen peaks to the dark woods!
Any tips for someone new to using photoshop for anything brush related?
I usually use Sai for illustration and ps for design work, but I'm trying to transition over to ps completely.

Thank you for your nice comment. I always try to use standard ps brushes, for this one I used a crystal brush in the beginning, just to try it out. PS is great for illustrations and relatively easy to learn - composition and color theory, these are hard

Yeah composition and color theory I have no experience of, I used to work with pencil when I did do traditional...so very monochromatic xD
