His first trainer took care of him until he had beaten the ice gym in Issho. He got traded away afterwards to another trainer. Again and again Mars end up fighting against the Ice Gym for their new master only to end up given away.
In his last fight against the Ice Gym, he end up making a grave mistake in the fight, which did cause him losing his right eye. After that injury he was getting treatment in the pokemoncenter, as his actual trainer simply end up abonden him there. They didn't return for him, even after he managed to recover.
Not wanting to say caught up in the cycel of repeatly getting given away and fighting again and again aginst the gym, he manages to slip away, wandering amelessly the streets.
He end up caught by some illegal fighting ring members, who foced him once more to fight.
With him getting infected and hurt multiply times, he kinda gave up, accapting his fate of always fighting.
More by chance he end up in Zephyr after the fighting ring and now is placed in Jivans care.
Both he and his trainer are very wary of each other, as Jivan prefers to keep Fire Pokemon (espacially Shadow+) on a safe distance, while Mars only asumes that he sooner or later is once more getting hurt by this human, like he got so many times in the past.
