hOOO BOY IT'S FINISHEDmy half of a trade (finally) with kortero !! please look at their half it's so cute i love it so much
i hope the scenery's okay?? you mentioned nathan could be drawn anywhere and i suddenly had the urge to go hiking, so i ended up drawing a forest (which was super fun, albeit a lot of work).
i'd intended to paint the bg and spend 100000 years rendering the grass, but it looked like a gross shag carpet so i started fresh with cel shading. someday i'll find a good style for it that works for me

DUDE THANK YOU!! i know sometimes the colours on a piece look really nice in my drawing program, but once they're posted dA really sucks the vibrancy out of it for reasons i still haven't been able to figure out? it's really annoying since idk if it's just doing that on my computer or everyone's

One thing though, the plant in the foreground kinda falls out of place. The a shading is and highlights are kind
of more intense than the rest of the background and the character, so it draws a lot of attention. I think one could avoid that by either "getting rid" of it or drawing multiple exemplars?? If that makes sense oi

Thanks so much!! And I'm not sure?? It didn't feel like a whole lot longer than some of my other stuff, but granted that gets drawn out over a while because of school (and I'm usually distracted by the internet while drawing). I should probably start timing my art since I honestly have no idea how long this took.
Yeeeeah the plant's bothering me too (the formation itself is wonky? that's not how plants work smh) so I'll probably dull it down or just remove it so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
And gosh that's really cool? I'm glad to hear my backgrounds are improving enough that they're kind of immersive!
