Description I have been updating this account with wolves, elephants and elks lately. It's time I make a small change in size.

Enjoy the squirrel.

It's lovely! Maybe a bit too dark but I like the depth and that it's a bit lighter where the squirrel is

Ah... A bit too dark, indeed. I posted this photo before noticing how darker my laptop was compared to my desktop. Oh well! xD
Glad you like it nonetheless.Β

Either the animals are extremely relaxed where you live or ninja skills are increadible. There's no way a squirrel would let me get so close to it around here
Either way, another great shot. I like how the edges are getting darker, it makes the squirrel really pop out.

Well, I've been referred to as a ninja quite a few times.

To be fair, I had a zoom, too. This was taken at a park where animals roam free. It's surrounded by an impressive forest, but I'm pretty sure this little fella saw humans before.

Oh, and it's incredible how many squirrels live in MontrΓ©al. They have adapted to the city so well that they're a lot more relaxed than the one on this photo. I saw one eating an ice cream cone in the tree right in front of my apartment. Quite a funny sight, but it's a little sad, when you think of it.

Well it sounds like the animals do have a really good life over in MontrΓ©al, in comparison to most other countries at least.
But I also get what you mean when talking about the squirrel eating that cone. The nature sure pays a big price having us humans live on this planet.

Exactly.

Ah yes, can't forget the small animals. How about tiny micro organisms? I'm a curious how your photo taking skills would work on that level?

Having no macro lens, that would definitely be a challenge.

Nice. The squirrel's face looks funny
I think the lighting is a little bit 'flat' and pale. Maybe you should increase the overall contrast a little. And also lighten it up a bit.

Thanks!
And yes, I agree. It looked fine (maybe a little bland, but fine nonetheless) on my laptop, but looking at it on this monitor, it completely changes the mood of the picture. I think I'm due for a monitor calibration, because what usually looks bright is now way dark!
(Not to mention that my post-processing skills could be improved! )
