Description
This is one of those paintings which I'm not sure I like it. I was just looking at it when my husband walked by and said," that's nice!" So I thought I'll post it and see what you think.I do like the lady on the left, and didn't want to touch it, even though, the rest of the painting has been enhanced with coloured pencil and pastels.
I decided to call this gossip, but if you have another suggestion of a title, please let me know what message this painting conveys to you.

Thank you for the fave, and for letting me know you like my painting Gossip. Funny that when I first painted it I thought it was crap. I ended up selling it at an exhibition and got lots of good feedback for it.

The perfect title for this. My heart kinda goes out to the woman on the left as it does indeed come across that they're gossiping about her. Wonderful use of colour.

I really like this one, I like how saturated the colours are for the faces on the right compared to the paler left. It's like she's the topic of the conversation and behind her back, there are these people gossiping about her.

I like the face on the left, it's supposed to be one face I guess, but when I look at it I see 2, because of the soft touch in it

I actually noticed I had written a title on the board I had stretched it on. I think it could have been called "Vanity" as well. Doesn't matter. I think it's good that everyone sees something different.

I think it's really important to get some feedback from people whose opinion you respect. I prefer honest critique rather than flattery. In the end I decide which comments I want to listen to, and which ones I will ignore. If people don't like what I do, I respect that it's not necessarily a bad painting, but may be their taste in art is different from what I like. You have to listen to your own heart, too.

i know, my girls will give me comment (and sometimes completely different) but they will still tell me "it's up to me". It's just good idea to get others perspective about something

Yes, I agree! I like to hear what other people have to say about my art. These days I'm even quite happy with some constructive criticism. I'm not as insecure or sensitive as I used to be.
I suppose I'm lucky I'm getting more positive feedback, not much negative. But I would not give up art for anything at this point in my life.
