Thanks

Oh, and I *SO* agree with your blog post about the networks killing off brilliant Sci-fi shows. I can't believe they stopped Firefly after only one season. What is their *problem*???

Thanks I'll credit nature for providing the good lighting; I was just there at the right time to record it

I don't know how to describe it but this picture just feels so *right*. The tone, the colours, the shiny-ness of the water on the swans chest, the way the red eye catches the light... it's just really great.

Thanks very much for the kind comments, and I'm glad you like the shot

What really caught my eye was the color of the muddy water, in many ways it enhances the shot. It gives the appearance of a sepia tone, the swan's black feathers seem to pick up more brow/ yellow in them and it tones down the red of the beak. I actually think this shot would not be as interesting it the swan was on clear water. Great job, the moment is perfect!

Thanks very much for the comment I agree, it would be "just another swan shot" if the water was clear; I'm glad you like this version!

I'd just finished reading your comment when I noticed this in our local paper: [link]
How the heck someone could do that to defenceless bird like this is beyond me.
