Inspired by Gustave Courbet's landscape paintings. That man was an amazing artist. Also, I had to write a paper about one of his landscapes, and I think it was then I painted this. This is what I imagine the landscape surrounding the little town my comic is set in to look like, with on the left Fenella and a vague smudge that could be Kadan on his motor bike. It doesn't really matter what's portrayed in paintings such as Courbet's, all that matters are the colours and the shadows, the way he layered the paints to achieve beautiful, and yet realistic colours. To be honest, I dearly prefer Courbet over most 16th-17th century artists. This is the sort of painting you can just keep working on, keep adding colours to, and maybe change the way that shadow looks too. I can look at 19th century paintings for ages, just because it's so visually appealing.
I kinda regret not choosing another course for the next year, in which this period is going to be the subject. Instead I chose Baroque. I don't even like Baroque visually, I just like the ideals.
I may edit the sky, since I'm not too happy about the clouds.
