It’s easy to believe that somebody like Harley Quinn would be so totally unhinged and distorted from reality that she’d just find a random person and beat them to death with a simple baseball bat, all while showing off the meanest, most satisfied smirk a villain could ever show. And with those emerald-green eyes and bubblegum hair, it’d be perhaps easy to be lured in before 34 inches of wood or steel smashed your skull in.
Immediately I’m drawn to the work on the armour, the bat and the person herself, with that evil grin on her face. Also, I do have to respect some of the work done on the gore, though I do emphasise “some”.
I don’t know, but I just get the feeling that “less is more” in this case. Harley just wouldn’t look pretty as far as splatters go, and yet most of the gore on her body, bat and everywhere else seems like she got that tattooed on in elegant ink rather than “just beat the snot out of somebody”. Perhaps that’s the intention; that she wants to see herself as pretty, with the flowery work and all, but she also has that crazed rage about her.
It honestly confuses me a little, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy this piece. The work on her armour can’t be ignored, and you’ve drawn her very faithfully to say the least. In the end, this is still a fine piece of fan art, make no mistake. Perhaps a bit too complex with the patterned blood, but that’s neither here nor there. Well done.

But I was more thinking she takes over as joker in a sense...
as she finally snapped and you catch a glimpse right after as joker is dead...
it has many levels
The gore as superficial as it is, but in a deeper sense shows her level of rage and depravity...
I would agree and say less is more but the gore is needed in this to show how brutal it was done...
how she finally got to be joker and in a sick sense, she got his love...and her respect...
Also it's about women's beauty in darkness...
the beauty in one's soul even though at the surface it looks like they gone mad...
it's a statement piece to women...
about their inner self and strength...even though they may feel ugly...
and a lot of women feel this was...abused or not...looking at air-brushed models

Well, at any rate, welcome back!
Now that's just getting pretty morbid, thinking of Harley Quinn taking the role of Clown Princess of Crime, but I'm honestly not sure how she'd pull it off. Joker is one mean motherfucker even on his best days; if his life were in danger, he's always got the proverbial ace up his sleeve. Or maybe he would let Harley take over in such a demented way... Who even knows?
Yeah, I hear you on the gore. Perhaps it could be seen as a test from the Joker to see if she can be as depraved as him, like an initiation of sorts. I could just see Joker having a smoke and calmly stating "A little bit more."
I suppose, in a twisted kind of way, that can be also true. But I do feel that that is a major leap of faith to take, a fair stretch from a pure, devastating beating to beauty in darkness. Perhaps some can see it as a sense of empowerment, but I'm not sure I can make the connection personally.
Honestly, the complexity of the gore didn't make me think anything other than the possibility that Harley was a talented tattoo artist and painter in her time. It could be the fact that it's an extension of themselves in times of darkness, but I'm not 100% sure.
Regardless, you're very welcome for the words and I'm certain that there'll be more in the future. And hey, if life gets in the way, sort that out first. Take care now!

Fair enough, I guess we all think in different ways. Some make connections quite easily in visual, aural or other ways.
If it's done for the purpose of getting several different opinions on what it could represent, and you get many deep, thoughtful conversations going based on that, I suppose it would succeed then.
I'd say it'd be the techniques used rather than the result that would make me smarter; if I looked at this piece from a real-life perspective, I'm not thinking of how intricate and beautiful those details are, I'm thinking I'd get the hell out of there in a hurry, before MY head gets clobbered in. Hopefully that makes sense.
Anyway, I feel you on how people seem to close themselves off. They've got 'social' media to stay in the know about everyone and everything, without even looking up from the phone to see what's really going on with the world.

Wow, I like what you did with the texture, did you create a custom brush in photoshop for this? I dig it!

I created an gradient map and put bevel stroke inner otter glow on it changed the colours to blood
then....invert it so I can place it where I want, used multiply and used a cusum brush brom blood splatter I found ages ago...
then I oil painted to blend it... and tv

That is just stupid how social media influences what a
