Description It's all around us....

Bonus points if you can guess who these people are (from one of Hanna-Barbera's teen sleuth cartoons of the 70's and also one of my favorites aside from Scooby Doo)

Added Slender's notes in there as an extra, which means that 'faceless' is nearby....

-----------------------
Those of you that guessed The Funky Phantom, they are correct. The characters shown above are Skip Gilroy and April Stewart, succumbed by paranoia that is. It is fun doing creepy pics of our favorite characters. This will be colored sometime.

Looks like I pretty much guessed right on who the characters were and the show was.

I'm a scooby doo fan myself, but I've gotten into some of the lesser known hanna barbera shows as well, like funky phantom.

I also like how april and skip are drawn here, very creepy looking; plus this reminds me of something you would see in the twilight zone or night galley or one of those older tv horror shows.

I think ~Gundamfanatic123 got the series right! [link]

Let me expound that with the characters: Skip Gilroy and April Stewart!

Too bad I never really saw this series. The only SCOOBY DOO-inspired HB cartoons I ever saw were SPEEDY BUGGY [link] (occasionally) and GOOBER & THE GHOST CHASERS [link] .

Thanks. I just went with my own touches while keeping some of their original features. This will be 'painted' like my Slender pic.

*laughs* I loved Funky Phantom....but the new Mystery Incorporated made me upset how they made such a lovable ghost a villain >x<

Yeah, I see what you mean. The new series is cool, but they kinda ruined some of the characters is you compare to the classic shows.

New it! I used to watch that show on Boomerang

I used to watch it on CN as a child. It does come back on Boomerang, but only in October with all the other 'meddling kids' shows, which blows because it's a long ways away. However, someone posted episodes on fliiby.com but some of them are missing parts.

Well on my Boomerang they still do show all the meddling kids shows but only late at night around 3 or 4 am. Last time I watched the Funky Phantom was 3 months ago until they placed JabberJaw on his time instead. However I did see that the Funky Phantom had an appearance on Mystery Inc but I didn't like him being the villian.

I saw that ep too, so uncalled for. However, it was all in Scooby's dream.

True but he was still the president or something that was running the mystery competition, that one was a funny twist xD

Looks like somebody's been watching the series, because they ARE the said people. I decided on these two because they do look cute together, even when I'm making this pic creepy.

I checked out a few episodes after you brought it up a few weeks ago. I had never seen it before, it felt a lot like the Scooby Doo of that time. I did watch Speed Buggy as a kid so seeing these two ride around in the same kind of buggy was fun.

KarmicIllusion In reply to TDI-Exile [2013-01-28 20:04:49 +0000 UTC]

There were a lot of Scooby Doo inspired cartoons during the 70s( this one came out in 1971). Each with a bit of their own touches. Their buggy is called the 'Looney Duney'.

Nope. This was before Speed Buggy.

Funky Phantom? I know they look familiar I just can't recall the cartoon >3<; it's like a bee buzzing in my head!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KarmicIllusion In reply to SonicGal390 [2013-01-25 03:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. The show only had 1 season of 17 episodes, making it one of HB's lesser known classics.

but one of the few I've seen ^^ took me a bit but dang it I got it right :3 hee hee and they mentioned Funy Phantom in the newer Scooby-Doo cartoon once

Or... it might not even BE the Slender Man, just one of the lunatics that serve him like Masky or Hoody.

barney-nedward In reply to maxvision92 [2018-07-18 00:38:05 +0000 UTC]

Nah, it's probably just some smuggler scaring people away in order to cover up his crimes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maxvision92 In reply to barney-nedward [2018-07-18 01:07:25 +0000 UTC]

I think if that were the case, they'd find the guy strung up across five trees in blood-soaked bags. Slendy does NOT like people infringing on his image.

barney-nedward In reply to maxvision92 [2018-08-19 01:02:00 +0000 UTC]

Well maybe, but in the Scooby-Doo! universe that Funky Phantom is part of, there'd most likely be no real slender man in the first place. In Scooby-Doo, the monsters are almost always just an ordinary criminal in disguise. The same is true in the New Shmoo, Captain Caveman AND the Funky Phantom. Only three monsters or ghosts on the Funky Phantom were ever real and two of them (Mudsy and Boo) are part of the main cast. The other one was Bigfoot.
