I too was excited for this fight, and couldn't even get mad like I usually do when he annihilated me over and over and over again xD Such a memorable boss fight. He basically smacked you around like you've depicted in this picture too xD

Let us not forget that Artorias uses his OFF hand to swing his sword. the knight in the box art is supposed to be Artorias entering the abyss for the first time...and which hand is he holding his sword in? And which hand dose he use in the boss fight?

Artorias' broken arm is foreshadowing Manus' even larger, disconnected arm which you have to deal with. D:

The story goes that Artorias tore through Oolacile but when he went into the caves and confronted Manus, the humanities as well as the dark lord began to bite at his soul. Before confronting Manus, or possibly after, he shielded Sif with a spell of protection from his great shield and left him to face the Abyss King. Manus beat him so bad that he broke Artorias' left art. However, now infected with abysmal energy Artorias could throw some of that evil darkness to any combatant.

There is no arm inside of that part of the armor. All that's left is dust and armor.

Great though and when you do think of this. This is his weakest he's ever been. He in his prime could cleave every boss in the dlc in half without batting an eye. And even when he's at his weakest he's still the toughest boss in he game and he's missing a fucking arm imagine if he had his other arm he would be able to one shot you when you have a fucking full stamina bar and a balder shield +5 when you block. God I don't want to fight him in his prime. Well when you kill him you get his soul and you can craft the abyss great sword. Which is the sword he fight should with. It scales with how much humanity you have so if you have ten you will be doing the most damage per swing in the game when it's fully upgraded and when you have all the humanity. And it has the cool ability where if you heavy attack two handed your character will do a front flip and slam his sword down just like artorias and heavy attacking one handed causes you to do a 360 great sword slash (like Sif's only way faster.

You thought he was toughest boss? Manus was wayyyy tougher than Artorias I thought. Artorias telegraphs everything he does! Though in his primes, I'm sure he could kick anyone's arse to Hell and back. :3
