70x50cm, acrylics, ballpen, colored pencils on cardboard
a part of my BA diploma project, Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź
The first in series of 4 cover illustrations for Graham Masterton books. Took ungodly amount of time to plan & complete so it won't compete with typography, definitely one of my most laborious illustrations... Hope the next ones will go easier 
Every illustration in the series will be in somewhat monochrome color scheme but with some kind of delicate tint to depict the general atmosphere of the book. The contrasting red colour will be the connecting element and will introduce some terror and mystery

I love how you can see every little line. The colors are lovely as well, as is how the trees fade into the background and how you can still see the little roots and the earth in the shadows. As such I´m a bit afraid to add a suggestion for improvement, but: That car seems to be a bit disconnected from the ground, meaning that it lacks a shadow. But hey, maybe that´s intentional.
Apart from that: I really can´t stop gushing, what a great picture!

The texture of the cardboard with the artful blending of colors makes this look great without being too complicated

Definitely looks creepy and mysterious! Great use of light to obscure whatever lies ahead of the vehicle. The textures look very nice

Lovely scenery ! It is the awesomest horror scene I've ever seen painted! The blood like lights flowing out presents sheer ghastliness and evil ! Also, grey work on the mist! Gives off the feel of mystery in the image ! The stern,tall,scary trees also mark the event of scariness ! The old wrecked car and the lovely background got my heart! Keep up the great work! I'm your little neighboring Goth!
