History:
Rui, an only child by a farmer couple, was raised in a farm in Yubinami. She and her parents had lived happily throughout all these times and had always managed, but reality always had a way to show its ugly face to Rui. Her family was really poor in the beginning. They couldn't sell their crops at high prices, and at especially unlucky times these crops would be affected by bad weather. There were debts and bills to be paid. It was a tough life; at most days they were unable to eat three whole meals. The farm always needed care so Rui was often absent from school. She had a hard time juggling farm and school work that sometimes she'd get sick. These were the times she hated the most; troubling her family with more bills to pay and allowing less time to tend the farm was really shameful for her. Also, she was not happy with her average grades and she was a slow worker in the farm. This made her feel like dead weight and useless, and she hated herself for it. She loved her parents a lot, and it pained her to see the sacrifices they would make for her. She hated seeing the worried look on their faces. She hated how she couldn't take those worries away.

As time passed, their circumstances improved. A relative of theirs agreed to support Rui's education and loaned them money to pay for their debts. This helped them save up money to build a store where they could sell their crops, which became successful due to the economic boom. Life has become more pleasant, and Rui sees that her parents aren't full of worries anymore. There's more time to spend on things they wanted to do, and there's more laughter in their home. They live relatively comfortably now, but even so, Rui has resolved that she will work hard and and be successful for her family. She wanted to not let the loan their relative gave them to be in vain. She wants to improve herself in order to be able to help her family even more. She wants to escape poverty and the feeling of being useless.
