Sumire was orphaned as a baby due to the war. She never knew her parents, but that never concerned her. She learned from an early age that she could make fabrics from her own webbing. She used that to help her feloow orphans by making them clothes and blankets to help them and herself keep warm. this always concerned her caretakers, because making so much fabric always deprived her of nutrients, and she always looked starved because of it. Her caretakers tried to keep her plump and healthy, but they always struggled between providing enough food while she kept making fabric. Eventually, she was taken in (aka sold) to a man who said he could provide her with the food she needed and paid well to adopt her. The orphange was graceful and so she went to live with the man.
Soon the man realized how great her abilities were. He learned that the type of food she ingested affected the fabric she made. She was basically used as a slave to make fabric for him, being fed food and things (some things that were even toxic) to make fabric that he could a sell to others. he evntually found out she could even eat gold and turn it into threaded gold. After years of this abuse, plus other types of physical abuse, Sumire hit a breaking point. She was at the point of starvation and he kept requesting more and more from her, plus forcing her to eat non edible materials to make certain fabrics. She finally fought back. However in her malnutritioned state she barely able to fight back, until she was able to find a knife. She embued it with her abilities and cut down her oppressor, which she felt extremely enjoyable. With her former master dead, she took what remained of his wealth and bought a wagon and a deerling. Now she has made a life of her own, making fabric for extremely wealthy customers and also learning how to make elegant clothes for the wealthier population. She is usually stationed in the Spring Kingdom, but she often travels to the other kingdoms to sell her fabrics and make ouotfits for the higher classes.
Trivia:
- She makes her fabrics from her own webbing, which means the more fabvric she makes, the more webbing she uses, thus the more energy she has to use ti make it. That means she can get very skinny very fast. her weights fluctuates constantly. She always has a stockpile of grins and jerky in order to keep up with order demands
- She can actually weave gold into fabric. She does so by eatung gold, which is then turned into silk
- Her hands are always stained from dyeing her fabrics. Often she'll actually eat the dye to help quicken the process of making fabric, which can have some adverse effects on her pysche.
- She travels from kingdom to kingdom in her wagon, pulled by her sawsbuck Choho
- She doesn't believe in charity, everything has a price, especially her services
