Description Victorian era grave monument made in cast zinc by Monumental Bronze Co.

Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. A national registered landmark, founded 1838.

A statue of Faith (most popular of the company's several sculpture designs) tops the 4 sided, 4 tiered zink obelisk. Featured emblems include those frequently used by Freemasons, Oddfellows and the Grand Army of the Republic. 

Front Side: Name on base JACKLITSCH. All-Seeing Eye emblem inside a star, Three Link Chain Emblem, I. O. O. F. , a cherub face above the nameplate.

 August W.  d. July 2 1857 Aged 2 Years 6 Months

Below the nameplate above the base on the rear side of the marker is another list of names: Mary Elizabeth Lampus. Charles Lampus. William Henry Lampus. Mary Ellis.

Beehive Emblem: Used by the Freemasons and by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I. O. O. F.); the hive is a symbol representing human industry, faith, education, and domestic virtues. It is currently in use by the International Freelancers Union. 

Clasped Hands Emblem: Can be used to represent a farewell, a meeting, or philanthropy. 

Manufacturer Information: Monument is stamped on its base Monumental Bronze Co., Bridgeport CT.

The trees are amazing.

This memorial park is famous for the beauty and variety of its flora   
Many of the trees have name plaques installed with their name and scientific names.
They hold tours every spring and autumn at Green-Wood just focusing on plants.

It is a truly beautiful place. Reminds me of Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia.

Well, if you do be sure to have lunch at the Six Feet Under Cafe. It's right across the street from the cemetery and offers outdoor terrace seating with full view of the many classic monuments. Great food and always filled with friendly neighborhood locals (the living type)
