Ariel from the Little Mermaid by Disney, original pose, lineart and coloring.Not exactly what I had planned, but I am happy with the results. If you saw the ink, you will notice I changed her far hand and arm. Didn't like them, now I do
If anything is noticeably wrong with it, please tell me but don't expect changes. Originally I was going to do several versions, and start with the cel shaded one. but I won't be going further into a different style of coloring.A bazillion techniques in Painter 8.

I really love this piece, and what I love about it is that it's another unique style of our favourite mermaid. I love how you matured her using the anime lineart style. She looks more mysterious as mermaids should be. I love the simple flat colours too with the highlights of the water. Well done

I just noticed the water pattern on the rocks in the full view. It makes the atmosphere!

omg I did the water reflections totally different on the rocks, and Painter crashed. I liked it, but I don't think it was quite right for water. I think this more subtle way is prolly for the best. I was talking to Ghaul on AIM and told him it was most likely divine intervention, but it was right when I started the streaks, so I could have always axed that layer anyway. lolz
