BEWARE GUYS. RANT AHEAD. Seems I am just making stamps to state my opinion ._. I just gotta get this out of my system~ I am probably gonna sound like a crazy fish lady

SO. I AM GETTING SO TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING THAT FISH DON'T NEED LOVE AND CARE! What made me finally snap last night is when my sister told me, "They are just fish WHO CARES."

My little sister wanted to flush her Zebra Danios down the toilet (I don't know if she was being serious, or if she was just joking) so I took them and they now belong to me, after SHE BROUGHT THEM HOME FROM SCHOOL TO PUT IN HER ROOM.

Well, Saturday I went to this other Petsmart by home to buy some blood worms for my little fishy babies. While I was there, I went to go see what kind of Betta's they had (The most ABUSED AND NEGLECTED fish that I know of!) At first, I couldn't find them, since the one that's walking distance from my house has them out in a warm-ish lighted spot on top of all the fish tanks. I finally found them on a shelf in a really REALLY shadowy corner that was really dusty. And I was appalled by their living conditions!

All Bettas (MALE) had absolutely NO FINS (Fin Rot-They ended up looking like females) and their water was RED/YELLOW/BROWN and you could tell they were NEVER cleaned. NEVER.

If there was, lets just say a cat in such conditions in a tiny space, people would be suing and GOING CRAZY.

All of them were at the top of their little cups, gasping for air. The two that actually looked healthier than the others, STILL looked bad, due to their nasty conditions. (All their other fish they had there in the main tanks were INFESTED with algae and looked slightly better than the Betta's. BAH. It was like that MONTHS ago and still has not changed!)

Well, lets just say I was pissed. I am going to be calling the Petsmart manager about it. (Or go back in and have a hissy fit about their conditions with the employee in charge of the fish...which is REALLY rare, since I hate talking to people and on top of that am shy.)

I mean, COME ON GUYS! How hard is it to change out their water?! THEY ARE IN FREAKING CUPS! (Which I don't improve of them living in FOREVER, only for temporary housing) I change my fishes water CONSTANTLY. ITS. NOT. THAT. HARD.

Ahem.

Back to the beginning. "WHO CARES THEY ARE JUST FISH."

Well, I LOVE my fish just like any fuzzy mammal you guys are probably used to. Due to me being allergic to MOSTLY any type of animal with fur, I have grown really attached to my fish. When one of my fish die, I bawl like a baby and will feel heartache for them for quite awhile like I did for rabbit Baby (Whom I MISS ALL THE TIME.)

I absolutely HATE it when people don't give a crap. They shouldn't be allowed to have animals if they are not gonna give them the love and care they deserve. Once I saw this man at Petsmart, grab a pink neon fish and throw him to the Oscars and made his daughter watch. That same day he bought his daughter a hamster. What the heck do you think he is going to do to the HAMSTER if he just did that to a FISH?! HOW can he just throw away a life so easily?

Oh yeah. BECAUSE ITS NOT HIS. How about I throw you to some crocodiles? See how you like it.

I HATE it when a little animal like a fish dies and people are so okay with it and just say, "Oh well, we can just go out and buy another."

FISH. HAVE. PERSONALITIES. NONE of my fish can EVER be replaced, they act/look all different. Just like you can never replace your, "Mr. Woofers" I can never replace my "Mr. Fishykins."

I HATE it when people make fun of a fishes death and joke about it. (Which I have seen QUITE OFTEN and I have gotten on peoples cases because of it) IT WAS A LIFE! Would you be laughing and joking around how they died if your cat you had ever since you were child SUDDENLY DIES?! Or if your "man's best friend" suddenly has cancer and needs to be put down?

I didn't think so.

My fish are my babies. I love them even after they are long gone. I treat my fish the way I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED. If their house is tiny, think of how you would be if you lived in there. Would you like to live in there? No?

Time for a tank upgrade and cleaning.

Would you like to be thrown to a bunch of carnivores fighting for your life? No?

THEN START CARING for others. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO WANTS TO LIVE and who has their whole future ahead of them.

Time to start showing some love in this world of hate!
