I needed more practice with watercolor (as you can see
) and decided to paint a picture of Luna. You can see the earlier pencil sketch in my gallery.Update on Luna - the Canadian government seems to have given up on the "leave him alone because it may be natural" stance and is leaning towards capturing him. According to recent news reports, however, it seems they're also leaning towards placing him in captivity rather than reuniting him with his mother and extended family. This is due to the fact that because he was left alone, people began petting him and feeding him, causing him to be more aggressive in his search for attention.

Cool, I've been watching the Luna escapades on the news since its so close to home to me. Very nice pic. I remember the tribal members leading him around the bay with rattles on their canoe. Very cool.

They're hoping to lead him back to his pod soon.

oh... I saw the dorsal fin in the picture, and it looked like female... aw well, nevermind

He's a young male, only about 4 years old, so he hasn't sprouted yet. Needs about another 8 or 9 years before he gets the larger dorsal fin and pecs.
