Description And, of course, the one with the best lighting and background has the boring old sitting on a telephone post pose going on... Oh well, still very cool to see one of these guys

Very nice shot! They always tend to look unamused and quite regal. :3 Where was this taken?

Thank you
This guy is out north of Prince George, BC above a crop field. There are tons of them around right now, so many that I've been getting emails about people seeing three and four owls within an hour of each other. Snowy Owl invasion XD

xD I'm from the U.S. Southern MI, and this past January, a large amount of Snowy Owls came south from Canada in search of Lemmings. (Apparently the Lemmings population was low.) - Thus resulting in them moving south. As for me living on a small lake, the water was frozen by the time the Owls arrived. They were such a wonderful sight to see and they sat on the ice all day. You could see at least four on the ice, each spread equally across the lake. Here --> [link] you can see a collage of film that was recorded. They stayed for I believe... two to three months? Somewhere around there. Fair warning, the footage gets a bit shaky at parts, seeing as they /were/ quite far away.
Indeed, Snowy Owl invasion. :3

Very cool!
I've just heard say that the snowies here are dying of starvation, apparently there are too many of them and not enough food Two or more have already been found dead... Hopefully the remaining ones either move on or find better hunting grounds =/

Unless I've got the wrong bird, I don't see the resemblance to a Rook XD
Thanks, though
