It is a little pricey, however they have a small size for 299$ But if that is too expensive then you can check out the Bamboo pen [link]
If you are on a budget then I think the bamboo pen would be great, but if your not I would definatley splurge on the intuos 4 I believe the bamboo has the pressure point option on it, you would have to check on that. But personally I think the pressure point system is crucial.
If not you can always check on amazon.com to see if you can find them cheaper or from another maker, but i think wacom is a very trusted brand.
