Because they're two different characters. And how do you know that's a man? Or a woman? Are you assuming gender based on appearances?

That's because when you draw a stickperson, they're bland, and their head is always white, like the paper. Characters like these are just full-bodied stickpeople. There is no hair, there are no details. Hell, man, this character (like many of this style) doesn't even have clothes! It's a blank person. Not caucasian, not asian, not black, not male, not female. It's a blank canvas character.
