Yeah, the Force is much more active and alive it seems with way more Jedi and Sith around to use it. It also still has a sense of mystery to it, since it's based in the past. As much as I love the movies, I wish the Old Republic got more attention. The novels were all pretty good.

Revan is an awesome book that ties in the time between the first KOTOR game and the TOR mmo for his character. The Darth Bane trilogy is a really good read too. Even though it's about an eventual darth and his apprentice, it's really good at making you like them despite their nasty deeds. lol It's also where the Sith's "One Master and One Apprentice" rule takes over and the massive Sith forces in the Old Republic dwindle away, making way for the start of the next timeline era. It's basically the "end" of the Old Republic struggle. I'd recommend those two (well 4) definitely, but the others are excellent as well.
