I wanted to do a quick drawing of the twins together. I’m not super pleased with it, but oh well. I redrew Hodari like, three times and I STILL don’t think he looks right. But, I wanted to show their colors together.Related content

Well, so far they have three: Suki, Hiari, and Hodari. Originally I was going to put another cub in the same litter as the twins, but I like the dynamic of just the two of them better. I don’t know if I’m going to add any more. Right now, three feels good. I like their characters and they are far more fleshed out than other K&K cubs I’ve designed in the past. That said, I LOVE designing cubs for them and I have a hard time not giving them a million babies XD

How do you see Hodari and Suki’s relationship?

That’s a great question! I haven’t given it a lot of thought yet. I think during her teen years, when the twins are cubs, Suki is wrapped up in trying to be Miss Perfect and doesn’t pay them a lot of mind. She and Hiari clash more because they interact more. I have this thought that Suki is in charge of training younger lionesses to hunt, and Hiari is a part of that group. So, the sisters spend more time together and get frustrated with each other more often.
Part of Hodari’s story is that he’s very bored in the Pridelands. Between Kovu, Simba, Chafua, and Ndoa, there are plenty of males around that are older and stronger and more useful than him (or at least, that’s how he sees it.) I feel like Suki, being the queen of duty and responsibility, gets easily annoyed by his boredom, or may even see him as lazy. They do bond over how much they love their daddy, though. Both of them love spending time with Kovu.
