1. that track plays a lot during the case solved parts (When the killer is actually sympathetic IE with the case of that girl who killed her stalker and if she didnt she herself would of been killed)
2. I wonder how Kid would make a pencil dissappear then... (Heath Ledger's Joker is hands down the best one

btw is it just me or was Raika Valintine (Not sure what she's called in the Japanese version) have one of the if not the worse death in Case Closed, tapped to the bottom of a bathtub that is slowly filling with water, unable to move, scream, or even talk, only able to watch helplessly as the water slowly rises to her unavoidable death by drowning (which in and of itself is horrifying but with the buildup she expereanced... *shudders* )
btw with me and which names I prefer I am more or less indifferent and tend to use them interchangably and depending on who I'm talking to... I think more of "A rose by any other name still smells as sweet" and to me it seemed like they got their personalities spot on in the dub. so to me it isnt a question of "Ran" or "Rachial" or him as "Shinichi" or "Jimmy" as I use both

cant recall what case you're on about. i for the most part dislike dubs. they loose something in translation. i dont speak japanese, and i really dont try to (horrible at languages, 18 years and im still trying to figure out english honsetly). ill usually stick with the japanese names (or original names), unless there is no possible way i could pronounce/spell them. (like in Yugioh, ill call Katsuya Jounochi, Joey Wheeler most of the time for ease of speaking, but ill call everyone else by their japanese versions) then again, there are times when im fiddling around and ill slip up. or im just fartin around.
but i have a hard enough time with names as it is, so i really just choose one and stick with it to avoid confusing myself.

for me Billionare Birthday Blues sticks in my mind because of how the killing took place. (I'mokay with Higurashi and Elfen Lied but that killing sticks in m y mind...in fact Elfen Lied's my alltime fave anime)
personally with the only exception being extreme situations (IE a 4shame dub or if there is no dub which is the case for Higurashi Kai and Rei) I prefer dubs as for me (I dont think I'm alone on this though) looking to the subtitles makes me miss some of the physical action and looking at the physical actionmakes me miss some of the subtitles which for me creates a problem of me missing large sections of the story (Not to mention giving me eye strain from looking back and forth really fast over an extended period of time)... one time while watching subbed anime my vision actually started to go blurry because of it and I had to stop.
I guess my name thing on Case Closed/Detective Conan is because I used to be part of a RP site for it where everyone was refered to as their Japanese names (which was confusing for me because at the time I didnt know who was who) but someone was kind enoughto give me a chart that had was
English Name/Japanese name
and I was able to work from there... it kinda got embarassing asking "who's Ran Mouri?" or "Who's Shinichi Kudo?" but ever since I was on that site I use both sets of names)

Im good with subs, because im a terribly fast reader, to the point where i dont even look between the two conciously. i can pick up on the words from the actions (as well as some of the more commonly used japanese phrases that ive come to recognise but hehe) and using perifial vision.but everyone is different, i know several people who cant read subtitles because their reading speed is too slow.
i started on the japanese names, so those were the ones that i memorised. i was very confused when the dubed version started going on about a racheal.
i only usually RP with one person, and we;re both Japanese-name oriented. and yes, 4KIDS dubs make small children cry, except not, because they cant tell that the dubbing is so terrible. (i actually used to love the YGO dub they had on there but hey
Id say my FAVE case was... the showdown between the org and the CIA (the one where gin is shot through the scope and has his cheek grazed by a bullet).... or maybe i just like GIN..... hmmmmmm......
as for fav anime altogether, definately Magic Kaitou, though. KID~!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised you dont get eye strain from that O_O (I guess some can handle reading subs for extended periods of time... but I'm not one of those people)
forme though like I said names are more or less unimportant, for me as long as the personality is there they can can Ran/Rachial whatever they want
and yeah... 4shame is HORRIBLE at dubbing (they screw up the plots, personalities, voices,and fill it all up with horrible puns)
for me I'd say Prickley Past is a top contender.

Who said i didnt? but im usually caught reading, watching subs, or drawing, so i use my eyes alot. i actually wear glasses too, so.
i agree to this Ran being chuck norris's studen theroy as fact. there is no way a normal woman would take a chunk out of a lampost and crush a desk with her BARE FIST.
I tried to read the book, but the library only had the second book of one of the sequals, and i never got around to looking online.

That is a good idea, I use my eyes a lot to read also but the problem is me having to move between reading subs and watching the actions on screen tend to hurt my eyes. (Thankfully my eves havent bleed from that though)
So it's official. Ran Mouri/Rachial Moore is indeed the student of Chuck Norris
btw here is the Elfen Lied Manga (A fan translation as there is no official translation [link] ) I also hichly recommend the Anime as it is also awesome.
