Description Celevon stopped and listened.

There was something out of place, something that he had not picked up before. Like someone carefully trying to hide among the background noise of the world. It had been on the edge of his senses for some time, half-heard and all but indistinguishable; as if someone had been trying to hide their movements amid every clank of his beskar armour or creak of aging floorboards under his weight. Yet as he stood in the doorway to his family household, listening to the whine of starship engines powering up on the distant courtyard, he could distinctly hear it now. There was a specific pitch, a specific absence, now filled by the careful breathing of someone trying not to be heard.

Behind his visor, Celevon closed his eyes and reached out with the Force, probing the nearby environment. He waited, calmly testing the nearby area for oddities before turning and looking directly down at a spot just behind him. For several long seconds he just stood there, staring seemingly into thin air.

"You're not coming."

In response, the air seemed to bulge outward. Warping and twisting the environment out of proportion, it promptly re-asserted itself, revealing a surprised looking Kiffar child staring up at him. A feeling of uncertainty brushed across Celevon's mind, emanating from her and conveyed through telepathy. Apparently it was a question asking both how he had found her, and to clarify his words.

"Simple, you did too good of a job hiding in plain sight," Celevon answered, citing the second point first. "And you're not coming."

He underlined each word with visuals that she could more easily follow. Through their telepathic link he sent memories to emphasize his point, along with imagery that could be more closely associated with the meaning behind his words. It was by no means a perfect system but, as she was still struggling to understand more than a few simple phrases, it was the easiest way to help Sirra keep track of any conversation. Upon seeing an image of her waiting in the house as Celevon departed, she responded with a flurry of retorts and heightened emotions. Each trying to make a separate argument against any part of his statement.

"You're not coming, because this is dangerous." Celevon continued, pressing through the myriad of retorts which threatened to flood his mind. "This isn't a rescue operation or scouting mission. People have gone missing. If I find those responsible, we're probably going to end up shooting at one another."

He spent a few long moments outlining this point, reiterating it several times when Sirra's uncertainty made it clear she couldn't understand his point. Inwardly, he was doing his best not to sigh at her argument. Celevon had accepted her as an Apprentice after her actual mentor, Ka Tarvitz, had struggled to teach the girl any finer point in telepathy. That had been a mere few weeks ago, and on a few occasions, Celevon had even found excuses to have her follow him during a few safer operations. Given how numerous Clan Odan-Urr's enemies were, the last thing that he needed was to walk headlong into a bloodbath with an inexperienced trainee in tow.

"Sirra," Celevon said, interrupting a half-formed argument as she tried to justify her presence. "Be honest here. If we ran into trouble, what could you do to help?"

The world warped, and she disappeared from sight.

"Besides that," he sighed. In response, an image entered his mind, of a green and silver armoured figure standing and looking down toward something. It was himself, as Sirra was seeing him in that moment, through her own eyes.

"Useful," Celevon admitted, blinking as he tried to suppress the mental contradiction of visuals threatening to bring on a headache. "But what else-"

Before he could finish, she popped back into existence. Both arms were outstretched. One was holding a metal cylinder. A lightsaber of his own design. One which had been hooked onto his belt mere seconds ago. The other held a black metal square that looked oddly familiar. He reached down, feeling for the blaster holstered at his thigh. Celevon's fingers brushed over the open hole where its power pack had been second ago. He looked down in surprise and then back up at Sirra. She merely grinned broadly in response, holding both of them out for him to take.

"Smart," Celevon said, chuckling despite himself as he accepted both items. He quickly slotted them back into place on his belt. "What the hell, grab your gear. We leave in five minutes."

---

This is just a small piece, one of a few now involving Sirra and another character. I should probably commission more images of Tarvitz and Essik at some point. In any case this was one which was kind enough to accept drawing, based primarily on a few developments in-universe. As Sirra is a character who has learned to communicate almost entirely through telepathy, and Tarvitz has next to no telepathic potential, Celevon ended up serving as a second teacher. This actually fits in largely with a Jensaarai approach to teaching students, where they switch between mentors every few years. Admittedly, that is usually so they can learn from other Jedi, rather than a Krath turned Jedi turned Assassin turned Mandalorian.

Thank you, though the design of the armour and all credit of it, goes to Celevon.

Oh dear...that definitely explains the difference between her and Kylo Ren where language acquisition is concerned. While things were rough for him growing up he certainly did have a more stable family situation compared to what you describe for Sirra.

I’m afraid I don’t RP (anxiety issues), but I like seeing and learning about the stories people put out there.

In effect, she never learned Basic, Kiffar or any conventional language. Her parents abandoned her due to her powers blossoming extremely early in life, and the strife it caused. So, while she survived and learned by peering into the minds of others, she didn't actually start to learn any words until a year or two ago. Because of this, most of the times she communicates is by trying to broadcast images of situations to imply words or meaning or general emotions. She she attempts to understand others by peering into their minds and reading their reactions. It's a flawed system, but it has her advantages.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it, though I'll admit I did not use any scenes with Kylo as much of an inspiration in this case.

That's actually the point of her story arc thus far. She wasn't nearly so stunted or affected as those without her powers, but she learned by looking into the minds of murderers and criminals. As such, she ended up with a somewhat warped morality and proved to be much more willing to kill at a younger age. There were also other issues besides this - such as an inability to even understand the basics of the Jedi Code - along with skipping a lot of fundamental learning elements.

It's led to a few fun moments, like someone teaching her basic mathematics by playing pazaak. Plus, due to Celevon's telepathy, he's worked to plant subliminal concepts in her mind, to help her better grasp words.
