I drew this weird little fish guy using ball-point pen (pictured) on a scrap of 100lb smooth bristol. He has 3 faces - 2 of them are hidden in the scales on his body

Has a sort of mythic quality to it. Like an illustration you'd find in some rare old book. Awesome piece!

holy crap... that's more tedious than the crappy clouds i drew, and the faces too.. man. i did notice soemthing weird about the scales at first glance. i thought to my self "mutated fish thingy?" and then i read the description and was like... "ohhhhh. i see them now." awsome work. how much time did this take you? and you said you did it on a brista board right was it a smooth one or a rough one?

I used to always work small; teachers were always after me to go bigger, and then galleries pushed for it-- miniatures will always be dear to me, though, and you are nothing short of brilliant...

When I first noticed the ones you've photographed next to a dime, I was physically startled; I couldn't believe how much detail you stock away in there... I'm so going to do this! I'm working on something really huge right now, and one that's just somewhat huge, but after these, I'm going to follow your lead.

It's hard to understand why so many people think you can't create real art with a ballpoint pen.
