Description Shhh.. it would appear Gretta has something secret to tell you... I don't know what, and if I did I wouldn't say it here.. because then it wouldn't be a secret!

Jus' been messing around with some real media pics for fun in the evenings before bed lately ... trying to get back into markers/pencils/etc again, as well as make sure I keep doing some fun arts whenever possible to break up the work arts.

Jus' a little character study of my goat-girl Gretta.. anyone has any real-media tips I'd love to hear them!

She's SO cute! And her colouring is totally gorgeous. I love her backward bending legs and keyweapon. She has the most adorable pose too

Hey cheers baby!
I'm not really sure that the key's necessarily a weapon y'know ... it's undeniable that Kingdom hearts is the reason she had a key (and indeed gloves/dressed in red and blue) in the first place, but it's gained a bit more symbolism since then... I think basically it's enchanted, and enables her to travel between dimensions - not sure how effective it would be as a weapon as it has no blade or anything... still need to develop the idea a little more though

Oooh i like it yeah i assumed key = weapon mainly thanks to KH, but I like the concept that it's more of a magical item than something to beat people over the head with XD

Excellent - gotta love that slightly cheeky smile.
Great choice of colours too, there's a nice touch of vibrancy to the clothing in contrast to the browns of the body.

Hey thanks! - I had the toughest time trying to colour her trousers!! lol It's always been so easy digitally, just pick a nice beige and away ya go, but with real media there was no selection of colours that worked so I had to try to mix different shades to get something close without it looking patchy! >.< LOL nightmare. Anyway, I'm glad you think it's worked - and cheers for the fav!

Keys make terrible weapons.

O. IC.

Having made that obscuro Kingdom Hearts Reference, what I like most about it is the colors for it. Very bright, livid, makes Gretta look mischevous and playful.

KatCardy In reply to J3V1L [2009-11-17 15:03:04 +0000 UTC]

thanks! although I think you mean Vivid - "Livid" means angry! lol
Don't worry about the KH reference, Gretta's design was originally very inspired by KH ideas since I was playing it a lot at the time, but her key has never been a weapon like the keyblades are in KH, it's just an enchanted key that enables her to travel through dimensions! (and locked doors, funnily enough!) lol ^_^

Ah, its good to see more of Gretta! She's one of my faves

She's looking very playful here, like she's playing hide-and-seek and she doesn't want the audience to make so much noise and give the game away!

hahaha! "It's behind you!!!" ...
"Oh no it isn't!"
"Oh yes it is!!"

Nice idea, I like it ^-^
Yeah, I'm happy to be drawing her again to be honest.. she's been in my head a lot lately... she's itching for me to use her for something but I just don't know what (and i probably wouldn't have the time for it if I did) .. so for the time being I'm stuck just sketching and doodling I guess!!

Thanks for the comment, and the fav, Todd.

OOOOOOH!!! right, i got ya *facepalm*

Tip number one, don't mess up the inking >.< xD Because that's not obvious

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KatCardy In reply to Rico-dawg [2009-11-16 13:30:32 +0000 UTC]

LOL! - cheers for that! I'll bear it in mind!
I've actually had to work out a different way of inking to do these recent real media pics... involving doing a really quick light inked line with a biro (just so I can erase my under-drawing and still see what I'm colouring) and then work back over the top with a ball-point once every thing's coloured .. otherwise I end up colouring over the lines and they get all greyed and messy -_- lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rico-dawg In reply to KatCardy [2009-11-16 17:25:04 +0000 UTC]

That's a good idea ^^ Though i've never had the problem of colouring over the lines .... wait... that's because i never colour inked pieces! D:
