Wow. I'm a pretty hardcore dog lover and I have never heard of this breed. Labrador/Australian Shepherd mix perhaps? He is gorgeous!

Well, I was asking if that's a new breed out of breeding two others. Like along the lines of Goldendoodle and such.

No, Catahoula Leopard Dogs are a very, very old breed, they're just not recognized by the AKC at this point. They're both gun and herding dogs though were originally pig hunters.. they've been around for a VERY long time.

xD They're definitely not a new breed, so I wouldn't be surprised if you had heard of them before. They're lovely, amazing dogs.

a women i volunteer with just adopted a deaf and blind Catahoula pup from our shelter Central Florida SPCA and she has almost the same markings as this one just a different color...just beautiful

They are a North American breed named after Catahoula Parish in the state of Louisiana. They have a few different names;
"catahoula leopard dogs," "catahoula curs," "catahoula hounds," "catahoula leopard hounds," and "catahoula hog dogs." They're not currently an AKC recognized breed, though I believe that is being worked on.
