OH, this is awakening my inner pokefreak. Beautiful swooshy style on these guys, too! Wartortle looks so mysterious (he was underrated, I loved wartortle so) and Ivysaur just looks so smug!
Did you ever read Toshiro Ono's pokemon comics? These kind of vaguely remind me of his style.

WARTORTLE WAS THE GREATEST
Seriously, when I traded my Squirtle over to my Diamond game, I evolved it into a Wartortle and then I went on the global trading network to get another Wartortle so that I could evolve that one into Blastoise and keep my Wartortle for battling because he is a badass.
I've read the pokemon adventures comics, but I can't remember who drew them off the top of my head... but thanks Shazz
