I can paint cute things too.I have trouble telling when a painting is finished or should be abandoned. I really don't know if I'm done with this or not, but I can't think of what else to do to it.

Very cute! Only thing I could suggest (though I'm aware this was submitted last year) would be to refine the wings a wee bit more, especially the right wing.

Thanks, but the wings were purposefully left unrefined, to prevent added detail from drawing attention away from the focal point of the image, aka, the face.

A touch of bird about the face and bits of rodent in the paws. And that little TAIL holding the lid! Adorable. The head's oversized, suggesting it's still a baby... which makes me wonder what it will be stealing in a few months' time...!
You have my props for being able to do woodgrain too. And it's an interesting effect having the focus fall off sharply in the background.

Focus on the cute eyes. I really like his pose, it's so similar to one of my rats. Little turn of a head, skilled hands, slender leggs and prehensile tail. It's so logical, so obvious.
