thank you so much this was a commission painting
i did a very long time ago i used watercolor in yellowsih tones, and white gouache mixing it
to achieve a low like appearance

Oh that's lovely! You can see the male reference model's features in there, but the white hair made him look like a completely different person. I'm sure you're client was blown away.

Awesome highlight dress folds... very good. I never have got the hang of watercolor pencil, do you color just a bit then paint them out with a brush? I was always left with a mess but this looks great.

thank you chris watercolor pencils are a bit tricky
to get the hang of them it took me a while
to find a way to work with them,
usually i like to use them
dry on top of my watercolor washes and for details
for example when i painted the dress i did a plain
paint job with my paint brush of yellow orche watercolor
once it was dry i used
my watercolor pencil to define the heavy shadow creases in the dress and
then with my white charcoal pencil i did all the highlights
and over them i used thinned out white gouache sometimes i use white acrylic
Sometimes i do use the pencils the way you described but for very small areas
not if i need to paint a large area ,for backgrounds i rarely use them
only if i need to do tree branches or something detailed
you can also sharpen them and dip the tip in water and use it like
a liner
