Recent aceo commission i finished of
Lady Amalthea from the fantasy animated movie
"The Last Unicorn"

Unicorn / Lady Amalthea, learns she is the "last unicorn" who, in her search for the other unicorns,
is transformed into a woman and learns about regret and love.

First time i did aceo in this style of art, years ago i enjoyed drawing Disney's Ariel ( the little mermaid ) but haven't done anything in anime/manga style and it was fun to draw, such sweet animated character, i always found the ending of the last unicorn bittersweet.
My client liked the look i gave my aceo mermaid sketch card "Cordelia" and did something similar with flowy dreamy,sad look, hope you enjoy it

she's a lovely character not many pics of her though, it was fun trying a different style than my usual stuff and want to do more when i get a chance Imagine if Disney re-did the story ???

It's nice to step out of your comfort zone once in a while. I've been doing lots of sketching including some silly cartoon characters, and it's fun.

I can't wait to see your magician!! Was it refreshing working outside of your natural style a bit? I still feel like I am trying to iron out a style...seems like everything I do is a little different in style (but I can recognize a certain character of line that I know as my own).

I feel like an art "baby" sometimes!! XD I am only just starting to totter around and I have a looong way to go to maturity!

you're doing wonderful
it was definitely a nice change doing something different
and it was fun illustrating it,anime/manga style of art is something
i wanted to try for a while, like you i like different
style of arts, with my work i go back and forth from fantasy stuff to portrait
work, i think an artist can illustrate a lot of different themes in their style

thank you for the encouragement! I am learning to be happy with the fact that I am simply doing something; putting pressure on myself to be cohesive, or perfect, or commercially successful is something I am moving away from (slowly but surely) because I end up just stalling. I have a couple sketches that may or may not become worthy of finishing, and I have a couple ideas in my head that want out...I will just keep on keepin' on!
