So gritty and stark, a nice contrast with those uber-refined, blood red lips. You and Spidey on a red*green kick, lately? You got some sickening (in a good way) green tones in here.

It's funny--the defiance in her eyes/expression really make me think that she's not trapped, but that she really is caught (as in "in the act.")

haha oh yea.. we're on a cross-processing binge right now

I'm so glad you like it.. and i totally dig the way you see it, because i definitely saw that too.. i saw her being caught in the act... and also being caught in the act of being caught. Love that you saw something different in it.. you rock

Something tells me that this indomitable spirit could never be tied down. Interesting that this is in the romantic category...is there a story there, Kat?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Katerina423 In reply to xXminceXx [2005-10-27 06:37:54 +0000 UTC]

well the romantic category really has to do with work that can be categorized as "romanticism" .. there is a supernatural and heroic element to romanticism that i totally saw in this piece.... it strikes me as a horror movie with a twist... something with heroism and good and evil and aesthetics.. definitely aesthetics.. because of all of that.. i figured this totally fit in the romantic category, even know it's not "typically romantic" and lovey-dovey in nature

hiddenhallow [2005-10-12 07:17:41 +0000 UTC]

Very emotional and with a strong technical base....
But the title... she looks more like "Raped" rather than "Cought". That's my oppinion. It's just the look of her face... it's far more violated...

That's an intense and absolutely incredible observation.. i do not think i can disagree with you. It's pretty powerful that you saw that in this piece... thank you so much for sharing that

Katerina423 In reply to gammada [2005-10-27 06:40:53 +0000 UTC]

oh this was totally done in photoshop... it's one of those PS actions you can download and it's supposed to completely mirror the film cross-processing technique. It certainly is by no means an exact science and you gotta play with it some.. but for a strange reason i've yet to comprehend, this image ran through PS and came out exactly like this... with the exception of the cross-process, this image is virtually untouched..

Wow, she looks like she has been caught in more ways that one and is really up for the experience. The photo says this woman is dangerous and despite being trapped, is still a threat and I reckon she'd be worth the risk. Very very intensely sexy and a very good and clever model.

Nice one again Katerina and I'm intrigued to know what digital cross process is, it's a very cool effect.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Katerina423 In reply to horai [2005-10-27 06:50:49 +0000 UTC]

digital cross process is just the digital equivalent of a film crossprocess and that is essentially "To develop a film in the wrong process (eg: neg.(C41) film in trannie(E6) chemicals) to obtain a sometimes bizarre colour or contrast effect". Basically you end up with a lot more cyan and green tones, with the reds still amplified.. images this way come out with a totally trippy effect.. and for some pieces it's absolutely killer.

I totally love that you like this piece and i can't thank you enough for your support.. you rock.. thank you

I love how her lips stick out. Lighting is great and expression is good. I would have probably expected more of a scared/annoyed look, but I remember you mentioning once that you like have an "anti" to your image always.

Great photo
