Description
Greetings fellow Deviants!
I hope all of you had a Happy New Year and are doing well this Friday evening.
Another Kate doodle tonight. Actually a technical challenge as I've had this bonnet prop in my Runtime for ages and could never use it as it was not devised for Victoria 3 characters. Yes, I said Victoria 3. You can parent it to a character's head of course but it never looks good. But hey, what does one want for free?
What you see here is actually two identical bonnet props overlaid upon each other. One bonnet for the hat portion and the other bonnet for the ribbon under the chin. Unneeded portions of each prop are made invisible in the Poser Materials room. The hat is easy enough to place and only needs to be scaled up by 10% in height and width to cover the character's hair. The ribbon prop is then scaled to be two-thirds smaller overall and pushed about a half inch further forward than the hat portion. There is a little more adjustment here to get the ribbon snug against the chin and neck. I also used a magnet to make the ribbon seem to wrap behind the neck a little.
I also used the grouping tool in Poser to create two additional materials in the rear of the hat to make it more decorative.
It reads a lot easier than it was. At one time I had up to four (4) bonnet props for all the effects I was trying to achieve here. But I was able to simplify it down to two in the end.
Cheers!
