I got inspired by a fanfic by Mechagodzilla28 called Darkrai’s World as an explanation for why Darkrai is the villain in Pokemon Mystery Dungeons: Time and Darkness. Since it was established in the story that the movie took place before the events of the game, I got the idea that Alicia would forgive Darkrai even after what he’s done in the game. This is a sort of reconciliation and maybe her encouraging him to do better after everything is said and done.
