Description
Within Draconaria flight has arisen a total of three times, found in four separate orders (two of which share a flying common ancestor). This represents an entire half of the instances flight evolved in vertebrates, no doubt appearing so often as a result of their advanced respiratory system. The distinction that it is the forewings being shown is an important one, since all but the psoapteriforms at least ancestrally have two pairs of wings.
