Otter picture for my Mum
It's her birthday today, and she loves otters (as do I) so I drew one for her!I think it's a river otter.. :3

When you do work for your mom, you certainly try your best. I think there is a part of you that really wants her to admire your work, not just because you are good, but because you want her to acknowledge you for how great you really are. I think you really want her to approve of what you do, and when you do something for her, you really give it your all. little to no line art, fantastic job on shading and the detail in the eyes... So then... why cheap out on the background? Running out of time? There was a lot more you could have done for that, water effects, rocks... something to help give the character a little more life... It's a fantastic example of what you CAN do for a character, but you left it floating in a cloudy blue sky...

-'Cos i love my mom! But yes, I feel kinda unappreciated by my parents. They're never really proud of anything I draw unless it's for art class and I received a good grade on it. But then again, I'm not always the most open about showing my art to people. About 70% of my art has only even been seen by me.
I guess the reason why I cheeped out was because I got bored of the picture. That happens a lot, to be honest
