Description I`ve admired the R2-D2 by crafty-maika ever since I´ve first seen it! Last week she published the pattern and now I´ve got one of my own

The pattern is from here: R2-D2 pattern

Thank you for the pictures - it's nice to see that my pattern works and is understandable

The dome of your Artoo is very nicely dome-shaped - my first attempts when I was working on the pattern always ended up too flat, and it took me several tries to get the right tension!

Cotton wool, lots of cotton wool ^^ I`ve already made some beaded animals filled with cotton wool...

By the way, I´ve been asked by several people right now if there`s a pattern for C3PO, too   But thanks again for this pattern, R2-D2 is so cute!

Is that a subtle (or not-so-subtle) hint that I should also bead a C3PO? I guess I should at some point - though I don't know about making a pattern. One of the reasons why I choose R2 to make a tutorial is that the figure is so nicely geometrical - whereas bipeds are complicated, to say the least. I've gotten comfortable beading figures with arms and legs by now, but trying to explain how to bead them - not to mention trying to turn the three-dimensional shapes into a 2D pattern on paper - is quite something else...

Subtle, why do you think of subtle??? I thought it was right obvious
Somewhere in the internet, I`ve seen patterns for dolls like yours, perhaps you could take a look at these patterns, how those are made? That is, if you WANT to make a pattern, of course!
Turning 3D shapes into 2D patterns is quite difficult yes, I had some problems with my camel, too... (Jalaila made a nice pattern out of my hand-drawn pattern: perlentiere.com/03_anleitungen… )

If you're referring to the big head dolls in various human shapes, then yes, I've seen some of them. I'm pretty sure I know how to write a pattern in theory, it's just putting into practice that's tricky But maybe inspiration will strike someday...

Nicely done! I like how it turned out and who doesn't like R2D2?
The colours are nicely chosen, too. It really looks like the robot in the movie. I like how the photo was taken, too.

Let's hope the person who came up with the pattern will come up with one for C3PO, too!

Thank you, I like him very much, too

I`m hoping for a pattern for C3PO, too, but I think there won`t be one in the near future. So I´m happy that out of all of her dolls she has choosen R2-D2 to make a pattern for
(And yes, I know it`s an awful lot of work to make a pattern, even for much smaller beaded animals....)

A C3PO would be nice! But I understand how difficult it is to create a template. (And I don't even know how to bead!
Either way, I think you did a great job on this one. Congratulations!
