This is a panel from a comic strip I've not yet completed.

*STORY TIME*
Protoboy is holding my fan character Dakota and is talking to Professor Akano on the screen.

Prof. Akano & her apprentice Dakota, are the ones who find and repair Protoboy when he is initially destroyed by Robotboy in the episode 'Brother'. Why? Akano has beef with Moshimo, but we don't know why yet.

Prof. Akano hands most of the repair work to Dakota to do. It takes her MONTHS to put him back together again, you can even see on Dakota's desk below the discarded parts of Protoboy.

Akano, safely out of the room & overseeing Dakota on the monitor above, also leaves it to Dakota to turn him on. 0_0
Poor Dakota, she was already apprehensive about turning him on, knowing how dangerous Protoboy is. Her order was to activate him, then leg it out of the lab! Unfortunately, Dakota slips as she tries to clear the room. She ends up hiding behind her desk, hoping he won't detect her.

It only takes seconds before Protoboy is active again, he of course is wondering how he has ended up here but soon, wants to leave and seek revenge on Robotboy. He immediately gets up, surveys the lab and detects Dakota's heat signature behind the table. He lands right in front of her, demands to know where he is, but before Dakota can try to put a sentence together, Akano appears on the monitor above and addresses Protoboy.

Protoboy flies into the air towards the screen and demands to be set free. As he is talking to Akano, Dakota tries numerous times to crawl away and leave the room, but Protoboy fires a beam just in front of her that sends her scurrying back behind the table. Protoboy clearly irritated, demands again to be released, not interested in what Akano has to say or even grateful in the slightest that he's been restored. Akano explains to him that they can assist each other, but as Dakota tries for a third time to run to the door, Protoboy gabs her, holds his cannon to her head and again demands to be let out for a final time.

It's only when Akano tells him that they have a common enemy and she will help him seek revenge on Moshimo and Robotboy, he finally listens. Akano is very good at persuading even the most stubborn minds, even a robots! She explains what her plan is on seeking revenge on Moshimo and how she can assist in destroying Robotboy once and for all. Protoboy agrees to let Akano work on him further; improving his weapons, improving his weaknesses etc.

Akano: "Oh yes, and please put her down gently, she will be the one to install your new weapons & upgrades". (Dakota in her mind: I go to do what!? 0_0)

For once Protoboy actually obeys an instruction, kind of. He descends but is still about 8 feet in the air when he releases Dakota, *THUD!* as she hits the floor and scurries out of the room.

About the image itself: This is one of Professor Akano's laboratories, primarily the one Dakota works in the most. Dakota gets lumbered with Akano's secondary, less important projects. So the monster flowers in the background are one of Akano's lesser passions that Dakota has to manage. A mixture of projects goes on in Dakota's lab, including Protoboy. Akano could just be using Protoboy to create her own robot perhaps? I wonder who that could be, hmmm...

Also, I use a little artistic freedom when drawing Protoboy's arms. I prefer them just to be a little bit sharper at the edges, and to justify why they look different I have drawn his original slightly broken arms on Dakota's desk bellow. So his arms have had an upgrade, mwahaha!
