It's a beautiful piece, I'm new to digital art still so I cant really say much else. one thing you can do so not to risk anything in terms of shading is to use another layer for it. shade only in that layer and use the wand tool to keep the color in like and where you want it, if for any reason your unhappy with the shading, delete the layer and try again.
you asked about the wings, they are right but anatomically incorrect, they should be long enough to reach far past her tail if they were stretched out. But not many care about that so don't worry.
