"By her appearance most assume Amelya (Leia to her friends) to be a punk rebel who hates her parents and goes against authority. In reality, that's only partially true. Born to a lineage of powerful magic users, it was assumed from a young age that Leia was to also become a powerful magic user.
Unfortunately, she was the only of her 5 siblings to not manifest any abilities. By the age of 18, her older brother of 20, and two twin sisters of 15 all had their powerful magic, even her 9 year old sibling had begun shaping water, and yet she was still arcarnically inert as ever.

Her parents, who understood how much it had all meant to her, decided to do whatever they could to help, visiting the fey, the Wizards, even the Druids attempted what they could although nothing seemed to work. There was magic in her blood, but she couldn't seem to access it. Her parents never gave up though, they worked and supported their daughter throughout her teenage years and they never lost faith in her. Leia in return stayed at home to thank her parents for all they were doing. Her hours alone resulted in her developing her most prominant hobby.

Her love of art. It's what got her through the toughest of days, whether it was painting on a canvas or sketching in the air using magical acrylics, she could never quite get enough of mixing colours and patterns together to create the most wonderful of shapes. She would visit every gallery she could get to, spending hours sketching and admiring the styles and spectra.
Her love eventually manifested into her becoming a tattooist, where she helped emblazon others with her fantastical designs. She herself of course also had her fair share of tattoos, even shaving part of her hair to access more skin to ink. Each part of her skin was either covered in tattoos, or she was in the process of planning what tattoo to get.

During this time she also began light experimentation with recreational drugs, mostly mild hallucinogens. She ran out of artistic inspiration sometimes, and figured there could be an untapped resevoir of ideas somewhere in there. She didn't do this often, but when she did... she developed some of her most avant-garde designs.

What she did not expect though, was that this art would be how her powers would finally begin to manifest. Her arm-sleeves began to glow as sections of the script began pulsating with energy, and she could finally focus her magic. Her parents and friends confirmed that yes, she could finally become a sorcerer!

With her powers growing, she decided it was time to go adventuring for a few years, both to hone her magical talent, but also to gain more artistic inspiration, and maybe even meet some new friends along the way. She saw adventuring as another potential muse!
Her only concern, the tattoos which appeared to focus her energy weren't of her active design, they were amongst those which had come about as a result of the hallucinogens, and it made her wonder quite what was the origin of these patterns?"
