bhahhaa! i love your take on this. i do however think the whole giving up katara problem was resolved already in COD though, that's why in the end he was able to get into the avatar state. unfortunately it was locked later on b/c azula shot him with lightening. he gave up katara in the sense that he knows when the put the world over here when the time calls for it but that doesn't mean he has to stop loving her, like roku and his family... right? at least that's my interpretation. but anyway, funny comic

Aww~ I dunno~ ^^ I still have a problem with it. I mean. The thing was, the Guru told him to let her go because she was an earthly attachment. His love for her bound him to the mortal plane. His sudden rush to save her during the season two finale proved just how tied to her he was. In the finale- he put the world ahead of her... but just a few episodes before- he showed just how attached her was to her... by getting jealous and worked up over a play. The end of that episode- for me, proved just how attached Aang still was to his forever girl, how he was still bound by his love for her. That jealousy should have affected his ability to enter the avatar state. I mean... entering the avatar state- at least as built up in the guru, is the equivillent to reaching nirvanna. Jealousy and selfishness are earthy emotions.... *sighs*
