Teppei is frequently mistaken as a little girl becasue: (1) his mannerisms tend to be flamboyant; (2) he has a feminine voice; (3) he's short-- it makes some people take him for granted. Since he wasn't blessed with a deep "manly" voice like other men his age, he compensates by reenacting what strong men do in the village. He loves it when his voice cracks-- it gave him hope that he will have a deeper voice.

  He is very friendly to the point that he doesn’t know who is the foe, but still a tad bit cautious. He is quite energetic/ active, and cheerful that he rarely seen frowning or angry—he believes that the spirits of the plants blessed him with such traits. Teppei is optimistic for the belief that it brings happiness and peace, and this is due to his parents’ teaching! You could say that he is a carefree boy.

  His being cutesy and noisy, as his way of being friendly towards strangers and friends alike, is often times considered as inappropriate to serious occasions. Teppei is quite popular with the children since he naturally acts like them.

Backstory:

  Teppei is the youngest among three (3) …also the shortest among the family, so he’s somehow overlooked by his parents. His age gap between his twin siblings is 11 years apart. Between the twins, Teppei was closer to Tamochi, the eldest and only girl among the siblings, mainly because she sings better than her counterpart, Tenshi.

  Since his parents are of almost the old age, they were lenient towards Teppei, so it was up to his siblings to keep him in check. Teppei’s parents love crafting and tending to their little garden. Unfortunately, the materials they use and finished products they created are occupying most of the space in the house, so it left little to no room for their children’s hobby-related belongings. This left the children no choice but to spend most of their time in the forest (be it playing or gathering supplies)—which is why Teppei loves the forest so much.

  The turning point in Teppei’s life happened when his parents told him a story about their previous works, when they were just starting out. It detailed the fact that some works were deemed “too ugly to be sold,” and burned into ashes. Hearing this, Teppei couldn’t help but feel angry about the ordeal. However, his parents reminded him that “it’s alright to be angry but remember that we start from somewhere.” It taught him that optimism and working hard go together. From that day, he swore to spread positivity and do his best at all time.

  Teppei lacked attention as a child for he understood that his parents probably got tired taking care of 2 children at once. His siblings couldn’t be bothered to spend more time other than gathering supplies from the forest or times they get days off. This resulted to him loving meeting new people.

  After graduating academy, he dreams of going on stealth missions (due to his short stature). The only down side to that is when he starts to open his mouth—he sometimes forgets that he’s not whispering, so he ends up helping out with missions that involve noise, and like-minded people like him (children).
