The new guy from my fanfiction "Total Drama Shipwreck"

To help boost ratings for the new season Chris and the producers selected John to be the new contestant on the grounds that he's a teenage cancer survivor.

John wears his unusal outfit because he's very sensitive about his appearance (the result of his treatment). Though normally calm and controlled, he was quick to hurl one of his twin katana at Noah's feet when he made a joke about his face.

When designing his outfit John based it on a dragon. The reason for this is his oncologist (a doctor involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of cancer) was Chinese, and according to her zodiac he had been born in the year of the dragon. She also said that true to his sign he had one thing most her other patients didn't have... luck.

He used to take life for granted, but after his near fatal battle with cancer he cherishes every moment. He sees things differently and is arguably the wisest of the contestants, giving Owen advice after he confided in him that he still had feelings for Izzy.

Like all the others campers he was told that they would be spending the season on a cruise ship dubbed the S.S. Chris. What they didn't know was that Chris was going to abandon them and they'd end up stranded on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere, left to fend for themselves against the harsh elements of nature.

After arriving on the island John is one of the only contestants who manages to keep his cool, and quickly assumes the leadership position.

Even though John is new to the camper crew, he watched all three of the previous seasons, and thought he knew what to expect. His strategy was to simply do his best and let the game play out.

Beth: Finally, a take charge leader who isn't evil like Heather.

Owen: John is like the wisest person I have ever met. Seriously, he’s like a teenage human version of Yoda, who wears a bizarre outfit.

Duncan: Note to self. Don't piss off the new guy.

John's outfit comes mostly from Power Rangers and the anime series Ronin Warriors. His name comes from John Kramer (the antagonist of SAW) and Sean Swarner (the first and only cancer survivor to summit Mount Everest to date)
