True the weather always plays an important part, but without you hiking around these beautiful shots just wouldn't get taken. For my money the hiking and searching and the artistic evaluation are equally important.

Kindest thanks for such a generous compliment, Chris Had I waited for ideal late evening light, it would have been raining and the roads are 1-pass when wet - they turn into pudding that pulls vehicles down to their axles. Spooked a small and hostile rattler out of the meadow as I hiked to the vantage point so I was apprehensive about sitting at grass level.

Thank you, Wiebe. In early June, there may be some very small, white orchids and lillies, if not, there is another meadow in higher elevations with fields of wild, blue iris.
