Also, last night I was messing around with a new character (her name, as in just her first name, is Rachel Lee) before I fell asleep and I've figured out her story. Well, not exactly her story, but how she'll be incorporated into part two of ITFIL. I wrote myself 17 notes in the notebook on my phone figuring it all out. And it's pure gold.

I rambled about her in my *LucyGray journal a little bit, but here's what I wrote down in my phone last night. Let me know if you think it's plausible :]

Rachel Lee and Kite meet at a local bar through a mutual friend. They are friendly enough to one another and enjoy drinking together. They begin habitually frequenting bars together and drowning themselves in booze. Kite decides to stop fooling witht he twins and pursues her for a decent while. He is continually denied. He goes back to Kujo who ignorantly takes him back. Reese wants to kick Kuj out of his apartment but she's still unemployed (1). Kite falls in love wit Breque (2) and invites Kujo to live with him. Rachel Lee realizes her jealousy towards Kujo and tries to sabotage her and Kite. Kite sleeps with Rachel Lee multiple times while heavily intoxicated. Kujo, not realizing he is stepping out again, thinks all is perfect. Reese gets over his feelings for Kite and they being talking/partying again. Kite slips up about Rachel Lee and Reese puts him in the hospital. Reese doesn't tell Kujo on the condition that Kite will. Kite agrees. Rachel Lee talks to Reese and takes all the blame. He slaps her. Kite "breaks up" with RL (3) and confesses to Kujo, but RL has already told her. Kujo and Kite argue and argue and eventually work things out. As happy ever after as such a dysfunctional couple can be. THE END

1 -- Reese is shitty about Kite and Kuj getting back together because he's still fawning over Kite. Sibling rivalry :]
2 -- Breque is Kujo's dog that she gets when she moves in with Reese. He's old, crippled, and going blind, but absolutely wonderful for snuggling. (I modeled Breque after my dog Sammy Terry )
3 -- My notes only have an 80 character capacity so I had to abbreviate Rachel Lee's name lol

Okay, so I like her. Tell me what she looks like, sounds like, what her personality is like in the first place, I'm curious.

Currently, I've got a new one, myself. Her name is Terry Kadin Bryant. When trying to avoid giving people her real name, she goes by Kadin.

Taller than average, 27, light brown eyes, olive skin, shaved head, lots of dresses/ballet flats/scarves/jewelry, moderate (leaning towards conservative) beliefs, generally too absorbed in her dogs (Stedmun, Avree, and Clarence, who are respectively a blue Weimaraner, a red Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and a blond [i.e. "sand"] Leonberger) to bother with relationships, and does secretarial work for a repo company.

She's genuinely friendly, enjoys talking to both people she does and doesn't know, hates confrontation, has an affinity for cars (especially muscle cars, one of which she owns), only eats the green gummy bears out of the package, takes her dogs swimming every weekend, parties a little too hard for someone nearing 30, puts her dogs and family above everything else, and sticks to her guns with stubborn conviction regardless of whether she's right.

I like her. I feel like the shaved head thing, though, should have some distinction, like there should be some kind of reasoning for it, something big or integral to her character. I don't know, I feel like it's an open opportunity for what could be a really cool character quirk/piece. I love the relationships with the dogs thing, it shows her capacity to love people, in some ways, to me. I like that she's obsessive about them. Nice touch. Bet she has conversations with them, which reminds me (haha) of my mother.

Terry is a twenty-five year old who is a hostess as the Stardust diner and also a Build a Bear employee. She has a degree in forensics, but is strongly talented in the methods of understanding people's behavior. She should have been a psych major. She has hair that cannot decide if it wants to be wavy or curly and is jet black, her eyes are ice blue. She's typical black Irish, exceptionally pale, and members of her family are involved with the Irish mob which is the only reason she isn't dead yet. She has a nasty alcohol issue and is known for being a brilliant pool hall hustler. She's medium height, around five-six, and her poison of choice are Jack n' Cokes and the occasional girly martini. She is unfriendly by nature and tends to be crude by way of honesty. She's notorious for bar fights, has too often beaten up the wrong person and, in turn, gotten herself kicked to the curb violently. Terry loves action movies, Steven Seagal and dogs. She gets far too emotionally worked up over very insignificant things, but otherwise she can be called cold. Terry is fiercely loyal, but you'd never know it with her attitude, and tends to be sarcastic. She loves people-watching at Starbucks and frequents musicals, but only when the cast rotates so she can pick out the differences. I love her.

There is a reason for it, I just forgot to mention it last night. Her younger sister was diagnosed with a high-grade glioma (i.e. brain stem tumor) when they were both young and, because her sister lost her hair, Rachel Lee shaved her head because "it's what big sisters do, right?" After her sister died she decided to stay bald in memorandum.
Her friends make jokes about how she's married to her dogs, they're that much a part of her life. She's got a lot of love to give, but she's quite inept at the romantic side of things. That's why she screws up so royally in regards to Kite -- she's the prime example of wanting what you can't have and only when you can't have it. She was completely disinterested in Kite while he was single, but totally flirtacious, up-his-ass-with-attention, overwhelmed with desire once he and Kuj got back together. She's a lot like me in that respect, and it's the perfect dramatic flare this story (doesn't need) wants.


She sounds like an absolute doll :] Do you have a story in mind for her?
Terry reminds me a lot of Magdalena, my gunslinging daughter of a Mafia Don. Take out the alcoholism and bar fights, add in a millionaire husband she can't stand (whom she married to please her father, of course) and sniping politicians and thar ye be. I haven't written Maggy since early 2006.

I really like that reasoning. It's very sweet. I feel like I'm looking forward to snippets about her and her sister, if you'd tickle that fancy. I LOVE shit like that. I understand the not-wanting-until-you-can't-have-it disease. I don't personally have it, but I know people who do, and I understand the appeal in it. It's a lovely flaw in her character, depending on how she goes about the trying to acquire that which she can't have. I imagine, for her, it sounds like she's assertive about it. I'm beginning to like her already.

And Terry doesn't have herself a story, I'm doing this thing where I make characters and they get plopped into other story-lines incidentally. Terry might get dropped into my story centering entirely around college as the older wild girl Tyler winds up hanging out with around Brooklyn/Manhattan bars because he's a degenerate artist frat-boy who wanders the City at night. Terry doesn't act her age, and she doesn't look it, though she's 24 or 25. She might even wind up 23 because I just don't feel like she went to grad school. Terry doesn't feel like grad school.

Unlike me, she is quite assertive about it. Subtle hints that turn into questionable comments/caressing that turn into grabbing his groin in public. She hates confrontation, but God damn it if she isn't ballsy when drunk.

And I may write some snippets from her past. I think it'd help me further develop her, but I'm finally getting back into writing ITFIL part deux and I don't want to ruin a good thing haha


Well, regardless of what you do with her, I'm interested in seeing/reading more. She sounds like my type of girl haha
