Description Everyone in the world should have met Indie. In a way, the world did finally meet him through this tribute. I am greatly humbled and proud of my boy.

Indie died because he had Addison's disease. He was only five years old. He was like a son and he was my best friend.

Indie was very, very special.

Edit: I was astounded to find that I was given a Daily Deviation for this piece. I'm very much an underdog of the art world, I don't receive much attention, which is something I've always accepted. I don't feel like I deserve this, but Indie does. He, is of course, mainly responsible for this achievement. He was and continues to be a great source of inspiration to me and all those who ever really knew him. He would have been six years old tomorrow. Happy birthday, sweetheart.

Was listening to this when I stumbled across this piece of beautiful artwork. This clip just fits so well with this piece, I LOVE it. Well done for the daily deviation, Indie looks like such a wonderful friend-I wish I could have met him

I been listening to this song for the past few weeks and when I saw your post on 9gag I was on the verge of crying. I had my labrador for fifteen years and in the summer of 08 the time came where we had to put him down. Thank you for reminding me how much I truly loved him. <3

Aww, I loved that movie too
It was one of the first things I wanted to watch to remember Indie when he died. That and Brother Bear. That movie is where Indie got the nickname "Smallish Bear".

It's my favourite movie ever (part one and sequel). It gave me some hope. And I believe our little friends are waiting for us somewhere and we all will meet someday.

I couldn't hold my tears after I saw your work (esp. at the 3rd frame) and read the comments, as it recalled the good times I had with my cute chow.
I lost him when he was 6½ years and got run over by a lorry, and it hurts my mind even till now.
I've used the 4 frames you've beautifully drawn for the wallpaper on my phone, so I can remember him every time I use it.

Although where we lived there never was a wide green lawn like one in your drawing, there WAS one in our minds where we enjoyed visiting from time to time.

Just made an account here to say that you touched my soul.
I'm at work right now, and I can't stop crying.
You perfectly drew what true love is.
True love lasts a lifetime. Thank you so much for sharing this...
Wish you all the best.

Ah, I hate making people cry while they're at work!
You know, I've had all sorts of relationships with all sorts of people... and this is the only one that I know for sure that will last forever, beyond the illusion of death. It really was the truest, most pure and deep love. The kind that Disney and Pixar make movies about.

Hey, maybe you'll stick around on DeviantArt. Thanks for coming over to share your kind words.

Honestly, this has brought tears to my eyes. Our last dog didn't live as long as would be expected, she had a very malignant cancer, we fought it for years but eventually she died (peacefully). This picture reminds me of my bond with her and how much I loved her.
We have a new dog now who is also loved very much, but I'll always remember Willow.

Tianithen In reply to KatVanGent [2012-04-27 11:20:18 +0000 UTC]

New dog is called Mabel, she is a golden doodle and she is a family dog so she lives with my parents. She is a lovely dog with lots of character. I am looking forward to the day I can get a dog that can live with me, unfortunately not possible at the moment.

KatVanGent In reply to Tianithen [2012-04-27 12:08:59 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I bet she's really affectionate and clever, being that mix of breeds x)
I feel your pain, I know how it sucks to not be in a situation where you can't have your own dog. I had to wait a year between my first dog, Scamp, passing away with my mom and getting Indie. Doesn't sound like a long time, I'm sure, but it was sort of my mission to be able to have a dog again

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tianithen In reply to KatVanGent [2012-04-27 13:32:37 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I think people think I'm a bit mad if I say one of my dreams in life is to own a dog, haha. She is pretty clever and affectionate, and she always likes to be where the action is. Strangely the names of your dogs, Scamp and Indie, are the names of my ex's dogs, so that is a weird coincidence (they were border terriers btw).

I remembered this picture today while thinking of my dog Rudy. He died yesterday, suddenly, his body shut down and we lost him. He was my best friend of nine years, and not having him around is killing me. He was a big, loving standard poodle, and was such a gentleman.
