Wellp... This was a bit of an experiment. I\'m not 100% happy with how it turned out, but it\'ll do.
I hope you guys can tell what is going on. ._. I challenged myself by not using dialogue. I suppose, in case anyone missed it, her family was stolen from her by the Thief.
Part 2 to come soon! It will hopefully be longer and more interesting than this.

Edit: Terribly, terribly sorry to *MoonsongWolf and followers. This was loosely based on a comic I'd seen ages ago that used pictures rather than dialogue, but I had no idea that it used rats or that I'd created something so similar.
I hope you can forgive me. I'll strive to keep my story as different as possible from Moonsongwolf's original plot. No tigers, I promise.

Oh, I just love this! I actually felt sad (for the little rat) while "reading" it. You've put so much emotion in her expressions and body language. I already hope that she will find her family, and it's only one page in. The anatomy on the rat is flawless, too. I'm rather jealous!

Yes, I think so. With the larger creatures I may or may not be facing, if I need them to be saying things too complicated to diagram with pictures, I'll revert to speech. Eble wont know what they're saying, though, unless she's truly listening or they're talking to her. I think it can be best described as a foreigner only being able to pick up bits and pieces of a different language.
If you would like me to illustrate it, it might be easier to understand what exactly i'm planning. On the other hand, Part 2, which I'm working on now, will have character interaction, so you'll be able to better see how my picture dialogue will work in action. It's all a bit of an experiment right now.

Oh it is also entirely up to you. I was just asking out of curiosity ^^ I try to keep up to date with all of the incoming submissions. We do encourage people to experiment with things, especially in the audition stage.

Pssh, While I can see the similarities to Moonsong's comics (but only after you mentioned it), I think you are definitely putting your own unique twist on it. No need at all to think you are copying. Picture-dialogue is not a new thing, of course. I do hope you continue to use this technique, as it seems incredibly affective and fits your style so wonderfully. I love the soft coloring and the way you express the characters. Great job!

Okay, I cannot get over how flawlessly beautiful your rat anatomy is. I could easily just sit here and stare at it all day and still be in awe of it. You have most definitely earned both a fav an a watch from me with this, and I am excited to see more in the future <3

Oh, I don't know about flawless. Rats, with their squishy little tube bodies, don't keep their shape. They're like a little sack of jelly, so squash-and-stretch is something I'm forced to utilize when drawing them that I don't necessarily need to with a different animal. It's difficult to draw, in short, but I'm really happy you think it worked out.
