Hi! I'll try to tell you fairly what I felt looking at this e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> disclaimer: I'm a random dude who doesn't have any kind of expertise on art.
Your work is really beautiful. This is a well-made tree, the colors are nice, the details... great job on the technical aspects of things! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> It's soothing.
Now, judging from the tags and from your comments, this is a very important memory for you. Some moment of your life that left a strong imprint, something major. But when I look at the picture, I don't see the expression of a fond memory. I merely see a very nicely painted tree.
So, I like the beauty of what you've done, but I can't say that I am "moved" by it. The tree doesn't "bleed" with the emotion of your memory, unless these emotions are peace and serenity.
When in front of a scenery, for example coastline as you have already made, the viewer can sort of "dive in" and lose track of time, as the horizon is further away and the details are numerous. The imagination works beyond the painting. But with a sort of close-up like this one, the picture doesn't captivate for very long. I'd say you should make it more interesting, with strong colors mimicking the emotion you want to convey, or some sort of way you can tell a story...
I hope this is useful!
Cheers, and keep going, I like what you do!

Yeah, tree branches sure know how to spread out throughout the sky that's for sure.
