Blender is just full on win I never used anything else, from what I've heard they are easier to use but I don't mind myself There's still lots I don't know about blender but since I've already put so much time into learning it I don't wanna try anything else at the moment

I love blender O_o but everyone calls me a noob for using it :/ I dont think its nooby tbh, to get effects like you do on 3ds max its a lot harder to get them on blender

Yeah it takes more effort indeed to get the effects in blender but I like the challange
Are you using Blender's internal render for your images though? I didn't find it very good and thats why I got Yafaray for. And it's great, you can really see the difference in the renders.
