Description

A mid-sized vessel, the Saccularius was designed to provide a stepping stone between the larger Devoratrix and the smaller Familiaris. With two jump drives, two refineries, and two assemblers, the Familiaris acts as a mobile base for mining and salvage operations in deep space; processing ores and raw materials and acting as a home base for up to five smaller ships. The ship flies entirely on hydrogen thrusters, and is fully atmosphere-capable on any planet; though it lacks landing gear. As with the Familiaris and Devoratrix, the two side-mounted docking ports are aligned with the primary airlocks for easy disembarkation onto docked merchant stations. The hangar also features guides on the landing deck to aid in landing positioning by use of the ventral-mounted docking cameras that are standard on smaller Katze Acquisition and Trading designs. Though the ship has mounting points for up to six defensive turrets, the ships lightly armored hull is not rated for prolonged space combat. When operating in potentially hostile environments, use of individual jump drives to facilitate rapid escape in the event of an ambush is recommended.

With a spacious recreation room and individual cabins for each crewmate, the Saccularius gives you the space you need to unwind after a long day of grinding down wrecks or digging through asteroids; whether you prefer social time with the rest of the crew or some quiet time to yourself. The ship has living accommodations for up to five crew, and features independent atmospheric systems for each sealed space. The ship also features two cryo pods for additional crew, and a survival kit for treating most injuries. The Saccularius-class industrial support carrier is currently the third and final large civilian ship manufactured by K.A.T.

Large ship, Civilian, Carrier, Support; dry mass: 2,300,000
